There's something of a double celebration this year for the Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Joëlle Warren, who lives in Alsager.

For Joëlle was not only delighted to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee she was also pleased to hear the reflections of so many on Her Majesty's remarkable life of service as a stateswoman, the recognition given to her tremendous effectiveness along with her deep humility, grace, diligence and astuteness.

The talented businesswoman is executive director of the executive search firm, Warren Partners, and is passionate about seeing women progress within organisations so that both they and the organisations benefit.

"It's so important to look at what is it that is stopping women from achieving their potential and ways of breaking down barriers, which is something I challenge organisations and their boards to address " says Joëlle.

"I love speaking to girls and women about this important subject, encouraging them to break down any self-limiting beliefs they may have, not to be afraid of failure but always to be guided by their values."

Joëlle, who was awarded the MBE for services to business, is honoured to have been serving as the Queen's representative in the county since 2010 and she can think of no better role model for women and girls than the Queen, who has given so much to this country.

"It's a huge honour to be Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire. Our Monarch is an amazing woman who has role modelled servant leadership for me, having put the needs of other people before her own, something she promised to do at the age of 21 when she said, 'I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service…'," said Joëlle.

One of the first things Joëlle did on taking on her role was to co-found the Cheshire Community Foundation, a charity launched by the Lieutenancy and the Duke of Westminster to connect local philanthropists with local community groups that most need support.

She served as its Founding Chair for eight years and remains actively involved. She has been delighted to see many Alsager organisations benefit from the Community Foundation's financial support and advice.

As well as taking part in the Cheshire celebrations at Chester Cathedral and being in the congregation at St Paul's for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Joëlle's passion for cooking was employed to celebrate the Jubilee weekend.

She joined forces with others in Alsager to hold a Platinum Pudding Party, with her contribution being a lemon posset, one of the desserts served at the Queen's wedding breakfast.

Joëlle commented, "Cheshire enjoyed celebrating during the long weekend in June but the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will continue throughout the year and we're looking forward to the autumn when we're going to be planting tress across the county.

"The Queen's Green Canopy, which has a focus on planting sustainably, will create a legacy in honour of The Queen's leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations."

Away from her duties as Vice-Lord Lieutenant and her other work responsibilities, Joëlle enjoys spending time with her sons and their families and likes to relax by hiking either in the local countryside or further afield in the Lake District or Derbyshire.

But, like the Queen, central to Joëlle's life is her Christian faith which she shares with husband Andrew and is partly why they moved to Alsager nearly 30 years ago.

The couple joined Christ Church in Alsager, a church they are still heavily involved with, deciding to buy a house in Alsager and send their sons to the local schools.

"It is a wonderful place to live. It's where we've brought up our children and we're very happy here."
