Engineers from a water company are back onsite in Alsager to repair a leak but the cause to the issue remains unclear.

Several residents had been left with poor pressure or no water at all, after water was seen pouring out from Talke Road, Alsager, near the entrance to Brook Villas Sheltered Accommodation yesterday afternoon (5 January).

United Utilities were notified about the issue and had to turn the water off for a short period of time last night to deal with the "complex repair".

A spokesperson for United Utilities said earlier today (6 January): "Our leakage engineers have arrived at Talke Road and will start work on repairing the leak as soon as possible. All supplies to the area have now been restored."
