Train services temporarily halted after two cars block railway track following accident

Train services near Alsager had to be temporarily halted yesterday (Tuesday) after two cars blocked the railway line following an accident.

Cheshire police were called to Radway Green Road in Radway Green at 4 pm and found two cars, a blue Renault Clio and a siler Kia Creed, were blocking the railway track.

A spokesperson from Cheshire police said: "Trains were temporarily halted and the road was closed while recovery work was undertaken.

"Paramedics were called to the scene, although there were no reports of any serious injuries. The incident was passed to British Transport Police."
