Two organisations with links to Alsager have romped to victory in the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Business awards 2024.
The Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group, which has a group in Alsager, won the 'Contribution to the Community' award while Daniel Mathias Architecture, which used to be based in Betchton near Alsager, won 'Excellence in Collaboration'.
Founder Liz Bedson set up the first Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group in Crewe in 2018 after her own late father had a stroke.
A second group was the set up in Alsager which meets at the Thirteen Club as Alsager Nub News told here, a third group in Sandbach followed and earlier this year a fourth was launched in Nantwich.
The group achieved charity status earlier this year and is poised to open its next group in Holmes Chapel as well as looking at a national on-line model.
The group was presented with its award at a glittering ceremony at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa last night (Friday).
Liz told Nub News: "We're absolutely delighted but this award is for everyone connected with the groups and working so hard for the Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group.
"Our thanks goes to everyone involved and we look forward to the future knowing we have won this wonderful award."
