This role which has a salary of £55,000 pa and is Alsager-based, focuses on providing expert consultancy services within the high-risk food and drink manufacturing and distribution sectors.

You'll be involved in safety verification, monitoring, and training services, helping to build complex safety systems for top-tier companies across the UK. If you're flexible, creative, confident, and ready to take on a role with nationwide travel, this opportunity could be perfect for you! 

The Food Safety Consultant will be responsible for: - Carrying out safety verification, monitoring, and audits at customer sites within the food and drink sectors. - Developing and delivering tailored safety training solutions to clients. - Providing expert safety consultancy, such as risk assessments, competent person support, and safety management system reviews.

Engaging in machine safety, workplace transport risk assessments, working at height evaluations, and isolation safety projects.

Managing customer relationships and ensuring high standards of service delivery. The Food Safety Consultant will have: - Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the food and drinks manufacturing and distribution industry. - A Level 6 Health and Safety qualification (or be working towards it).

Experience in machine safety, workplace transport, and working at height within a manufacturing environment. - Flexibility to travel across the UK with regular stays away from home.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contract Supervisor to complement our existing Management team.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Contract Supervisor will cover the region and assist in management of the performance of designated Household Waste Recycling Centres and Transfer Stations to ensure all contractual obligations are met in full; close liaison with operational staff and support departments are maintained; operational efficiencies are achieved and to pro-actively monitor the facilities for compliance with all safety and operational procedures.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of actively managing site operations, ideally within the waste industry and Certificate of Technical Competency qualified. You will work well in a team, possess good communication skills and be able to quickly pick up systems and processes. Further training and development will be tailored to the needs of the successful applicant.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As the postholder, your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with safe working practices and Health and Safety legislation. You ll oversee operations, monitor facilities, and supervise a diverse team of both direct and sub-contracted staff. Achieving performance targets, reporting progress, and implementing operational plans are essential aspects of this role. Additionally, you ll contribute to quality and service improvements, represent the company at meetings, and maintain effective working relationships.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Experience in a similar supervisory role.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills as well as attention detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexibility for extensive travel as required between sites
  • Experience driving heavy plant is preferred but, on the job, training can be provided to enable ad hoc cover when required.
  • A degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential where related skills can be demonstrated.
  • Certificate of Technical Competency qualified in Hazardous Waste transfer or willing to work towards obtaining the qualification
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally, good attention to detail and to present information clearly and concisely
  • Portrays enthusiasm, passion, and ambition to learn and develop.
  • Positive can do attitude.
  • The ability to liaise with all levels of management on a professional level, using good communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills to be responsible for managing own workload.

Essential requirements:

  • A current UK Driving Licence is essential.
