A Rode Heath woman who has lost almost four stone in weight since January has been crowned her area's Slimming World's woman of the year.

Twenty-four-year old Georgina Clewlow has been named Rode Heath's Slimming World 'Woman of the Year' 2022 thanks to her life-changing 4st weight loss.

Georgina has gone from a dress size 20 to a 14 and says her confidence and health have both improved and she feels much happier.

"When I started out I never dreamt I'd be able to achieve all that I have," said Georgina.

"Losing the weight has made such a big difference – it's changed my life. My health is better, I have more energy and I'm much happier now.

"I definitely feel more comfortable in my own skin. I'm now not scared of going out and enjoying myself, as before I would sit there and think people were looking at me and talking about me because of my weight. "

Georgina joined Slimming World on January 22nd after becoming increasingly unhappy with her size.

"My last straw was as I looked back on what I was eating and said to myself this needs to stop," she said

"The thought of a diet leaving me feeling hungry or miserable or both, worried me.

"With Slimming World it's completely different. I never have to miss out and I don't have to get hung up on weighing and measuring everything I eat.

"I make a lot of meals myself either from scratch or following Slimming World recipes, everything so far I have really enjoyed and every meal has made me feel full."

She added: "My family and friends are all amazed by how much I can eat and still lose weight.

"I still eat many of the same meals that I did before I started losing weight , like spaghetti bolognese, curries and roast dinners.

"Now I just prepare and cook them differently – and they taste so much better.

"I've picked up lots of new healthy recipes from the other members at my Slimming World group, too.

"I know a lot of people worry about joining a slimming club because they don't know what to expect,

"I look forward to going to Slimming World each week even on those weeks where it's been tricky.

"It's snacking for me and working to make new healthy habits together with no judgement at all and lots of ideas from my fellow slimmers really helps."

Georgina lost 7 1/2 lbs in her first week and was blown away that the changes she'd made had such a big impact so quickly.

As the weight started to come off, her fitness improved and Georgina now loves walking.

"'I walk everywhere now even if I have to go in to Alsager before I would catch a taxi now I walk and I have also really enjoying my swimming," she said.

"I feel like a different woman to the person who walked into Slimming World winning Woman of the Year is a real honour because there are so many amazing members in our group.

Julie Pugh , who runs the Rode Heath group, said: "I'm so proud of Georgina. She's a fantastic ambassador for Slimming World and what she's achieved is nothing short of incredible!

"She's a huge inspiration to everyone in our group and I hope she inspires other women and men in our local community to change their lives in the same way."

Rode Heath Slimming World group meets every Monday. To join or find out more ring Julie on  07739 093 705.
