An Alsager primary school has opened ticket sales for a fundraising event to replace play equipment in memory of a child.

The Bristow family lovingly installed a play area at Pikemere Primary School in memory of their son, Sam.

But Sam's Memorial Garden now needs to be revamped and the school's PTA is holding a colour dash in May to help raise around £7,000 to replace it.

A spokesperson said: "Our outdoor play area, which was lovingly installed by the Bristow family in memory of their son, is now past the point of repair and has been condemned.

We need to raise £7000 towards the replacement. Please give generously. Thank you."

Anyone is invited to join the colour dash on Saturday, May 20th from 10 am until 2 pm.

Pikemere PTA say the Colour Dash is a short obstacle course in the school grounds.

"At each station, colour runners are doused from head to toe in a different coloured powder meaning participants finish the race plastered in colour.

"Participants must wear eye protection which can include prescription glasses, sun glasses or swimming goggles.

"Once you finish the race, covered in colour, participants will receive a medal from one of the team.

"Sausage baps, burgers and light refreshments will be available throughout the event.

"If your family members would like to attend to cheer participants on they are more than welcome to join in Key Stage 2 playground.

Tickets cost £8 for a single admission, £16 for a family of two, £24 for a family of three, £30 for a family of four and £35 for a family of five.
