A lunch club set up to help senior citizens in the town enjoy a meal and make new friends is appealing for volunteers to help.
The Alsager Civic Lunch Club, run entirely by volunteers, meets every Tuesday and Thursday at Alsager Civic.
The club is popular in the town but needs volunteers to help run the club in a variety of ways from helping in the kitchen to greeting people as they arrive and collecting them from their home.
Alsager Civic Lunch Club's Sheila Davies said: "We need help with a variety of roles from preparing tables for lunch, greeting people as they arrive, serving lunch and clearing away afterwards. Times are from around 10.30 am until 1.15pm.
"We appreciate some volunteers can't make every session. We have people who do one session a month as well as those who help every week.
"Any amount that people can offer is a great help. We need more volunteers to help us to continue providing this service for our elderly people.
"If anyone is interested, they can contact me or pop in on Tuesday or Thursday around 11am and they can see what we are about.
"For people who would like to come for lunch if they contact me and we can see if we have availability.
"For anyone who requires transport to bring them in, we work alongside Alsager Community Service who provide transport for people including lunch club transport."
Anyone wanting to help out or find out more about the club can contact Sheila Davies on 07513 378398. The club also has a Facebook page here
