A popular Alsager town centre pub which has been closed for 15 months will reopen this summer under new owners.

Sarah and Carl Smith, formerly of The Gresley Arms in Alsager Banks, will take over The Lodge, on Crewe Road, Alsager.

Posting on The Lodge's social media page, the new owners said: "We will continue to serve the finest Cask Ales, Craft and World Beers, Traditional Cider and Continental Lagers plus a large selection of Gins, Rums, Malt Whisky etc.

"We would like to wish Helen [previous owner] best wishes for the future and thank her for all of the help."

An opening date has not yet been revealed.
