ALSAGER Community Theatre performed two sell-out shows of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at Crewe Hall.

The socially-distanced performances of Shakespeare's comedy took place in landscaped gardens at the rear of the 17th century mansion and Grade I listed hotel on Thursday and Friday last week.

Due to the pandemic the cast had mastered the script via Zoom and then rehearsed in a field.

Alsager Community Theatre has gained a reputation for acclaimed productions of Shakespeare and other classics. The next production will be Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' at Alsager Civic in November.
