Owners of Alsager's new high-end 'Japanese dining experience' have announced they unfortunately have had to delay its opening.

The eagerly awaited The Vault was due to officially open on Sunday (September 11th) but the owners have revealed there is a slight delay.

Bookings had opened for the exciting new venue housed in the town's former Barclays Bank in Crewe Road.

The Vault say "due to unforeseen circumstances", The Vault will not open on the date planned, which was this coming weekend.

A post on the venue's Facebook page says: "Please note, all bookings and opening invites still remain valid.

"Dates for openings will be rescheduled and anyone with an existing booking will be contacted once we gain greater clarity on an opening date. We are hopeful it won't be long.

"It is with deep regret that we make this announcement. We are working hard to put things in place so we can open as soon as we get the green light.

"We will be back with a bang. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding."

The bar and restaurant has been named The Vault in reference to its former use.

Part of Caster's of Cheshire Group, which also owns Caster's in Lawton Road, Bradley Lancaster, of the Caster's group, appointed Daniel Matthias Architecture, to work in partnership with him to transform the building.

Head chef is Adam Steele who has worked at Michelin starred venues and for the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
