An Alsager dental practice is excited to launch a new monthly membership plan which it hopes will put an extra smile on people's faces.

It's a year since Dr Matt Gilks took over Lawton Dental Care on Lawton Road and the business has added a new monthly membership package to its range.

The practice already has a gold and silver monthly membership to help to spread the cost of routine dental care and now the business has launched a bronze package.

"The aim is to make dental packages affordable and tailored to everyone, to ensure patients secure and maintain their oral health," said Dr Gilks, who lives in Winterley, near Sandach.

"People like to budget and love the fact it then allows discounts on treatment.

"The packages give peace of mind and the ability to budget by covering routine health checks and hygiene and we're delighted to have launched the bronze one."

The bronze package which covers 2 hygiene visits a year, 1 dental health check, worldwide dental insurance and 20% discount on treatment costs just £16.50 a month, equivalent to 58p a day.

"There's a misconception that private dental care is expensive. A monthly plan makes it affordable to everyone," he added.

Dr Gilks trained at Liverpool Dental School, and has spent nearly £100,000 revamping the popular practice since he took over. Alsager Nub News told here how the family-run practice now has two treatment rooms plus a host of other improvements including air conditioning and 3D scanning.

At the heart of Dr Gilks' ethos is a passion for people to look after their oral hygiene.

"There are simple daily practices which people should follow," said Dr Gilks.

"Teeth should be brushed at least twice a day, first thing in the morning and last thing at night, preferably with an electric tooth brush.

"Don't use a mouthwash as this washes away the fluoride which protects the teeth.

"Good dental hygiene starts young so it's important to teach children to look after their teeth."
