Buying and selling a home can be one of life's most stressful experiences but an award-winning Alsager sales manager aims to make it pain-free.

And with plenty of experience under her belt, mother-of-four, Margret Caddy, knows a thing or two about buying and selling houses.

The talented woman started off life as a property negotiator but today she's Stephenson Browne's Alsager office's sales manager.

She recently celebrated 16 years at the award-winning chain of estate agents and loves her job in Alsager.

The Alsager office of Stephenson Browne won Best Estate Agent – Stoke-on-Trent (North), in the British Property Awards last year.

And Margret, who has an unusual spelling for the favourite female name, is no stranger to awards herself.

She won the People's Award in the ESTA awards which was presented by none only Location, Location, Location's Phil Spencer.

"It was amazing and I didn't expect to win it, let alone be presented with my award by Phil Spencer," said Margret.

"I love my job and have never wanted to do anything else. I love working for Stephenson Browne who are a great company."

Margret sees the process of buying and selling right through from an offer being made to getting the sale or purchase through to the final stages.

"I'm very organised and have a system in place where I know which solicitor I am ringing and when.

"It's all about communication and keeping everyone informed about what's happening.

"Communication I the key. I help buyers and sellers negotiate the process and understand what they're going through."

Margret, who lived in Alsager for 30 years, originally growing up in nearby Kidsgrove, knows the town well and is familiar with locations.

"My children all went to school here and I have grandchildren here too. I have a good working relationship with our customers and am only too happy to help."

During her 21 years in the property industry, Margret has seen many changes but has never looked back on her career.

"We're always busy and that's how I like it. It's important to stay calm and see things through.

"A major part of my job is keeping people updated with their sale."

And so good is Margret at her job that she receives cards and emails thanking her for her work.

"I keep in touch sometimes to see how they're getting on. I was in touch with one customer who relocated to the Cotswolds.

"It's nice to see people are happily settled in their new home or happy with the sale of their home."
