A local nature reserve is offering people the chance to take part in a volunteering morning this week.

Hassall Green Nature Reserve has a volunteering morning on Thursday (July 27th) from 10 am until 1pm.

Anyone can go along and take part in events which will include collecting  yellow rattle seeds from the meadow, tending to raised beds and securing a new hand rail in place.

A spokesperson said: "This is a very relaxed morning offering people  the chance to get outdoors this summer, help their local community, learn new skills or even make new friends.

"This opportunity is perfect for anyone wanting to potentially change employment or get back into the working world.

"We can offer the chance to build on those vital team working, communication and time management skills that employers often ask for."
