A group supported by the Alsager Partnership is celebrating the Queen's Jubilee in style – by throwing a tea party.

Family and friends of the Alsager Stroke Surviors are having an afternoon tea funded by Alsager Town Council, Alsager Partnership and Cheshire East Council, on Thursday (June 2nd).

The event takes place at the Thirteen Club in Cedar Avenue  from 10.30 am until 12 noon and will feature music, fun and games.

The party comes hot on the heels of another tea party held earlier this month by Alsager Partnership to celebrate five years since the town was formally recognised as a dementia friendly community – the first in Cheshire East.

A spokesperson said: "We had a very successful tea party with entertainment held at the Alsager Golf Club on Sunday 15th May with approximately 50 guests.

"The afternoon was about fun as the pictures portrayed and we included a quiz, raffle and entertainment by Gary Davies pianist and vocals by Victoria Gotham.

"We all enjoyed an afternoon tea superbly supplied by the Alsager Golf Club. It's five years since Alsager became formally recognised as a dementia friendly community.

"It's five years since Alsager became formally recognised as a dementia friendly community - the first in Cheshire East to achieve this status, which we have maintained ever since.

"We're all looking forward to Thursday's tea party and celebrating this special event."
