The organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races say they have launched a "comprehensive investigative process" - following the deaths of a father and son from Crewe.

Many tributes have been paid to Roger Stockton, 56, and his 21-year-old son Bradley from Crewe who were killed while racing at the Isle of Man TT Races on Friday (June 10).

A number of serious incidents occurred during the 2022 event Isle of Man TT Races.

Five competitors were killed during the fortnight of qualifying and races over the Mountain Course.

The organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races say they have launched an investigation - following the deaths of Roger and Bradley Stockton (ABP Motorsport).

This is the worst loss of life at the meeting since 1989, when five racers also died.

Many people across Cheshire and the UK were stunned to hear of the tragedy of the popular Crewe duo.

Roger worked at cargo and freight company Cooper Buckley, Crewe Gates Industrial Estate.

He had been with them for 20 years and in a social media post on Saturday (June 11), a spokesperson for the company said: "Our dear work colleague and friend Roger Stockton and his son Brad have sadly lost their lives participating in a sport they both loved, Sidecar racing at the Isle of Man TT.

"Roger has been a part of the Cooper Buckley family for over 20 years and he'll leave a huge hole in the company.

"On behalf of everyone at Cooper Buckley we pass on our most sincere condolences to Roger and Brad's family and also to Roger's partner Mel. Rest in peace Roger & Brad."

Yesterday (June 13), local resident David Johnson paid tribute to Roger on social media, saying: "I worked alongside Roger for more years than I care to remember, at least 20 years.

"I had a great relationship with him and many a chit chat about his passion for sidecars.

"All the photos he showed me over the years with his son from when he was so small.

Roger Stockton worked at cargo and freight company Cooper Buckley, Crewe Gates Industrial Estate (ABP Motorsport).

"Roger, you had a very infectious smile and will be missed by many my friend."

Brad worked at ABP Motorsport on Newcastle Road, Shavington.

Staff at the vehicle customisation shop have described themselves as 'devastated' by the news.

A post on the company's website on Saturday (June 11), says: "The whole ABP family are absolutely devastated to share the news that 'our Brad' has sadly lost his life.

"Brad was just 21 and was taking part in a sport that he loved - he was funny, brave, annoying, loved, brilliant, handsome and had his whole life ahead of him. 

"He left us alongside his father - pursuing a dream, a passion that brought both glory and danger. 

"We all loved Brad. At ABP we are a very close family and we now have a huge gaping devastating hole in our hearts. 

"Fly high Bradley, ride fast and we all pray that you have gone to a better place. Gone but never ever forgotten."

Bradley Stockton worked at ABP Motorsport on Newcastle Road, Shavington (ABP Motorsport).

ACU Events Ltd were the appointed race organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races and are now investigating the five deaths.

It has said the investigations will "systematically analyse every aspect of these incidents, using established root cause methodology".

A statement from the ACU read: "A multi-professional team involving all partner organisations reviews the events that occurred and recommendations on the way the event will be delivered in the future will be made."

Before the deaths of Roger and Bradley Stockton, Welsh rider Mark Purslow died after a practice crash at Ballagarey.

Northern Ireland's Davy Morgan suffered fatal injuries in a crash at the 27th Milestone during the opening Supersport race.

Sidecar driver Cesar Chanel also passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a crash in sidecar race one at Ago's Leap.

The worst death toll at the Isle of Man TT Races was in 1970. Six riders lost their lives.

Hundreds of people have registered their condolences on the Facebook pages of both Cooper Buckley and ABP Motorsport.
