Are you doing something in Alsager to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee? If so you might be eligible for a grant.

Alsager Town Council has a budget of £2,000 for the Queens Platinum Jubilee and community groups can apply for funding from this budget up to a maximum of £200 per grant application.

You could be holding a celebratory event, show or party during the weekend of June 2nd – 5th or you could be running an organised activity such as mug painting.

Alternatively, you could be planning a commemorative bench, plaque, tree planting, flower beds, town wide floral displays or temporary street decorations.

Alsager Town Council's grants panel will make the final decision on all applications for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

A spokesman from Alsager Town Council said: "The application/use of the grant must be directly related to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and demonstrate appropriate community benefit and/or community input.

"The grant may only be used for the purpose for which it was requested.

"Applicants are requested to send photos or written information on the event to the Town Council for publicity of the grants awarded.

"Funding will not be available for fireworks or to support events at which fireworks are used. Funding will not be available for any events that involve live animals such as donkey rides or prize goldfish.

The deadline for application forms is April 3rd. The grants panel will meet week commencing April 11th and applicants will be notified of the decision and payments made to nominated bank accounts week commencing April 18th.

The Queens Platinum Jubilee application form must be completed and emailed to [email protected] or posted to Alsager Town Council, 3 Lawton Road,

Alsager, Cheshire, ST7 2AE by April 3rd. The application form can be downloaded here
