Two women who work at Alsager's Asda are putting their singing voices to good use by staging a charity event for breast cancer.

Abi Winkle and former X Factor contestant and professional singer, Carol Teague, both work at the Lawton Road store and often entertain customers with a duet.

Now they are using their amazing voice to raise money for the Tickled Pink Breast Cancer' charity. with by organising the 'Aisle of Pink Festival' which will take place on Saturday, 8 August.

"When we're working together on Fridays we'll often burst into song," said Abi. "We both love singing and thought it would be good to organise this event. Customers often video us."

Shoppers will be able to hear the professional singer belting out tunes with Abi from 3 pm until 5 pm and will be able to make a song request with a 50p donation.

The duo are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity which is the UK's longest-running corporate charity partnership, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Abi and professional singer Carol, who once sang at a birthday party for Princess Margaret, have put together a fun programme of events for the day with games from 1 pm until 2 pm with fancy dress encouraged.

There will be an award for the best dressed Asda member of staff and Asda customer plus drinks and cakes available to buy with all profits going to 'Tickled Pink'.

Carol is no stranger to performing. She was on The X Factor alongside Olly Murs and Joe McElderry, and once sang at a birthday party for Princess Margaret.

Carol she said previously: "Customers come in and say 'go on give us a song' and I just sing to them. I'll say what's your favourite and I'll just burst it out.

"Not a shift goes by without me singing. I like the fact that I can be myself at work. It makes customers happy, and me happy. I'm a hard worker, but I like to have fun too. Customers say I make their day, which is nice."

Have you heard Abi and Carol sing? Alsager Nub News wishes Abi and Carol lots of luck as they prepare for their big day. Get along and support them!
