FIREFIGHTERS put out a blaze at an industrial unit at Radway Green yesterday (Sunday).

Four fire engines from Alsager, Crewe, Northwich and Winsford as well as an incident command unit from Winsford attended the building at around 7.15am.

They found a fire involving a diesel powered pump which had been extinguished by staff at the site.

Two fire officers wearing breathing apparatus entered a room and used a main jet and hose reel jet to douse the remaining fire and to cool the diesel pump.

The crews then used a large fan to clear the smoke from the building.
