Alsager Clean Team, a group set up to keep the town tidy, has set out its dates for its monthly litter picks this year.

And the group, which is just over a year old, says people can still make a difference to the town even if they can't attend the monthly litter picks.

They are calling on everyone, from schools to dog walkers, to do their bit for Alsager.

A spokesperson said: "The group keeps growing every month which is so lovely to see but you can also help if you can't make the monthly dates.

"Remember not to drop litter and clear up after yourself, putting any litter into bins."

The list of most popular discarded items say Alsager Clean Team are:

·      empty cans

·      dog bags

·      sweet wrappers

·      lunchtime food wrappers

·      cigarette butts

·      crisp packets

"We would also ask that schools, dog walkers and food establishments do their bit in helping to keep our town clean and tidy," the spokesperson added.

"Thank you so much to everyone who helped in 2022 and a big thanks to the venues that offer a meeting place and refreshments."
