Closing date nears to make nominations for this year's Everybody Awards

Have you been inspired by the Commonwealth Games and do you know someone who you would like to nominate for a sports award?

This year's Everybody Awards is on October 7th at Crewe Hall, and Everybody Health and Leisure will be welcoming heroes from the local area and celebrating their achievements in sport, health and well-being, play and active recreation.

Everybody Health and Leisure run 16 leisure facilities including Alsager Leisure Centre and seven Taste for Life cafes across Cheshire East.

The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham which closed last night has inspired so many people with sport

This year's awards will be hosted by the Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and the keynote speech will be delivered by Eddie the Eagle aka Michael 'Eddie' Edwards.

And you could nominate someone who deserves to be recognised or a  club or organisation before the closing date for this year's award nominations – Monday, August 15th .

Nomination categories include:

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Sports Personality of the Year
  • Health and Well-being award
  • Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
  • Young Sports Achiever of the Year

Speaking on the Everybody Awards, Everybody Health and Leisure's chairman Andrew Kolker said: "We have already had some brilliant nominations submitted and are blown away by some of the achievements of our local community.

"We're really looking forward to the awards and seeing all of our nominee's celebrating with their family and friends.

"We want to hear from you, do you know someone who's made an outstanding contribution to sport, active recreation, health and well-being since 2021? Nominate them for the Everybody Awards 2022 and they could be one of our winners!"

"Previous winners include snowboarding athletes, obstacle course superstars, local nurseries or schools, local sports clubs for netball, rugby or football, cyclists, and of course Everybody's fantastic members.
