Celebrities raise cash for a school at charity football match in Alsager

A professional darts player and Hollyoaks stars look set to have raised hundreds of pounds when the took part in a charity football match in Alsager.

Bradford-born world professional darts player Joe Cullen and Owen Warner aka Romeo in Hollyoaks were among the line-up in the match at Alsager Town's Wood Park ground.

Dozens of people turned out to watch the stars, all members of Supporting Charities Football Club play Calm 84 FC from Crewe play two sixty minute matches.

The match raised money for Edleson Road Primary School in Crewe. Mark Dunning, manager of Calm 84 FC Crewe's step-son attended the school.

He said: "We've had an amazing year and this game was a celebrity match to raise money to buy books for this school.

"The weather wasn't great but everyone still had a good time and enjoyed watching some great football.

We hope to have arised around £2,000." Calm 84 FC Crewe raises awareness and funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a leading a movement against suicide, as every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives and 75% of all UK suicides are male.
