Alsager Town Council elects its new mayor and deputy mayor

Alsager Town Council has a new mayor and deputy mayor.
Councillor Michael Unett has become Alsager Mayor - for the second time!
Cllr Unett served as mayor in 2021 and was elected 'virtually' during lockdown period. This time however he was offically elected in person, having served as deputy mayor for the last two years.
Councillor Jane Hearne, who has been mayor for the last two years, handed over the chain of office to Cllr Unett.
He told last night's Alsager Town Council meeting: "I'm honoured and proud to be mayor and will represent Alsager to the best of my ability.
"We all have the same goal - to serve our community. Cllr Hearne has set the bar outstandingly high and I would like to thank her for her service."

Cllr Unett has chosen Alsager and District Food Bank and Cancer Research as his chosen charities to fundraise for during his time in office.
Councillor Pauline Hubbard was elected deputy mayor.
