Sue Helliwell stepped down last month from Alsager Town Council

Alsager Town Council say on their website: "The term of office is until May 2023, you do not have to be a member of any political party, although you will be expected to sign a declaration to the effect that you will agree to abide by the Code of Conduct, which governs the way in which all Councillors undertake their duties.

"As a Town Councillor you will have the opportunity to bring local issues to the attention of the Town Council, and help to make decisions on behalf of, and for the benefit of the local community.

"Being a Town Councillor can be a very interesting and rewarding experience and although Town Councillors get no financial reward, many find it personally rewarding as they almost certainly do something positive and are able to influence decisions, which will help to shape the future of Alsager.

"To apply, candidates will need to submit a letter of application that is no more than one side of A4, detailing what they feel they bring to the position and complete a 'Candidates Consent to Co-option form' form. Both can be emailed to [email protected] or posted to 3 Lawton Road, Alsager, ST7 2AE."
