Alsager's Green Fair takes place on February 25th.

Alsager is set to show how environmentally friendly it is at an event in the town when a variety of organisations will come together.

The town holds Fairtrade status and on Saturday, February 25th this will be in the spotlight at the Green Fair from 10 am until 1 pm at Alsager Civic.

It is being run by Alsager Town Council and the Ethical, Local, Fairtrade (ELF)/Fairtrade group in the town.

Nearly 20 groups are showcasing sustainable offerings and a Fairtrade café will be run in the café at Alsager Civic.

Councillor Rachel White, who is spearheading the event said: "Stalls are free and we ask each stallholder to provide a raffle prize to support Alsager Town Council chairman's charities.

"These are Dementia Friendly Alsager and Friends of Christies."

Among the groups taking place are Wesley Place Church, Alsager Guides, Alsager in Bloom, Alsager Clean Team, Alsager Urban Wildlife Trust and Alsager Hedgehog champion.

Alsager was awarded Fairtrade town status in 2007.
