Staff at Alsager School have praised Sixth Form students for their 'outstanding achievements' as they receive their A-Level and BTEC results today (Thursday).

The school said their results were "a testament to their resilience, commitment, and sheer hard work, as well as the unwavering support of our staff and families".

Students secured a wealth of top grades with one student is off to University of Cambridge to read History. University of Liverpool is a popular destination this year, but students are off to University of Sheffield, Durham University, Loughborough University and some going further afield to Plymouth and Edinburgh.

The school said there is a mix of subjects to be studied as well. "Whilst the sciences are as popular as ever, there are more unusual courses such as Japanese Studies, Applied Golf Management Studies and an Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford College," said a spokesperson.

Headteacher, Andrea O'Neill said: "This year's results reflect the dedication and perseverance of our students, many of whom have overcome significant challenges during their studies.

"This year's results reflect the dedication and perseverance of our students...

"Their success is richly deserved, and it has been a privilege to watch them grow into confident, capable young adults. It was lovely this morning to see so many come in with their family members and see the sense of relief all round! They deserve the celebrations that will undoubtedly be taking place later."

Andy Rayner, Director of Sixth Form is so proud of all of the students: "Whilst the majority of our sixth formers have opted to go to university this year, some have chosen to go down the apprenticeship route and one student has even set up her own business 'Pawtastic Adventures', which is absolutely amazing.

"These results are not only a celebration of academic success but also of the character and ambition that each of our students brings to our community.

"Whether heading to Russell Group universities, specialist arts and technical colleges, or directly into employment and apprenticeships, we know they will continue to thrive and make a positive impact in the wider world."

A spokesperson from Alsager School added: "The staff could not be prouder of what our students have achieved. Their journey is just beginning, and we look forward to hearing about the incredible things they will accomplish in the future."
