Children and staff at Alsager Highfield Primary School celebrated World Downs Syndrome Day in style – and put their best foot forward wearing odd socks.

The school, in Fairview Avenue, were lucky enough to have a visit from Cheshire Downs Syndrome who delivered an assembly.

Pupils wore odd socks throughout the week and sold the gingerbread 'socks' which look set to have helped raised £250 for Cheshire Downs Syndrome.

"It is important for us to learn about others, everyone is different and we all have different strengths. It would be boring if we were all the same," commented one Year Six pupil.
