An Alsager woman says she is lucky to be alive after a Range Rover collided with a HGV and ploughed into the back of her restaurant.
Elizabeth Glendinning, who runs the Ey Up Duck in Crewe Road with husband Dave, says a Just Eat order literally saved her life.
The restaurant owner says she was working in the back of the popular eaterie but had run to the front of the premises to sort an on-line order.
Seconds later, she heard a huge bang as a vehicle ploughed its way into the back of the building, damaging brickwork and shaking the building.
"I ran to the machine to sort the order out and seconds later I heard a big bang. I have never heard a bang quite like it.
"It was like a bomb going off. The back of the building is completely wrecked.
"If I'd still been working in the back I dread to think what would have happened.
"The car ploughed into the wall. The entire back area has been destroyed and to be rebuilt.
"I dread to think what would have happened had it not been for the Just Eat order, I could have been crushed.
"There were three of us in the building at the time. We're all shaken. It was very frightening."
The building's gas supply had to be cut off and the road was closed while emergency services attended to the scene.
Elizabeth says the restaurant was fully booked for Father's Day on Sunday and had many more bookings over the weekend and for the coming week.
"We've been told it will be at least two weeks before the building work will be completed.
"Our gas supply had to be cut off and we have no hot water. Our number one priority is paying our staff."
