Alsager Pharmacy has become one of the first to distribute the Covid-19 vaccination in the area.

The pharmacy located on Lawton Road, which is now set up as a vaccination centre, began administering jabs today (23 January).

Suhaib Abdullah, managing director of Alsager Pharmacy, said: "We wanted to do all we could, to help the NHS in their efforts to roll out the vaccine.

"We are ecstatic to be able to offer our premises as a vaccination centre."

The vaccination centre features dedicated patient car park facilities and Alsager Pharmacy have strict Covid-19 safety measures in place, ready to welcome the thousands of patients that have been referred by the NHS, to receive the vaccination.

Alsager Pharmacy has been commissioned to roll-out a large number of vaccines per week.

Mr Abdullah added: "We have been commissioned to roll-out a vast scale of vaccinations and we are prepared to distribute up to 10,000 vaccinations per week, should the NHS require this capacity.

"With qualified personnel and our Covid-19 trained support staff on hand to help us roll-out the vaccination programme, we can see a real light at the end of the tunnel.

"Remember, the coast is not clear just yet! We must all play our part in this global pandemic and continue to follow the rules to help fight this virus."

The pharmacy is still running as normal for patients to access everyday services.

If you have lived your NHS referral letter and live in the Alsager area, you can now book your vaccination with Alsager Pharmacy.
