Alsager educated award-winning singer songwriter gets ready to launch new album

A SINGER songwriter who grew up in Alsager and went to school in the town is about to release another album.

Rob Wheeler won the Songwriter of the Year Award at the 2021 ARC Radio Listener awards and was nominated for six awards in the radio competition,

And on March 10th, Rob's next album, recorded during a tour with American legend, Nell Bryden, "Live and Lonely in London", will be released.

Rob, who went to Alsager School and lived in the town in his youth, says he's proud of his latest album featuring more of his amazing music.

"I have always loved music and writing music. It's something I love doing," said Rob who comes from Rob comes from a generation of musicians,

His mum, Julie, an artist from Alsager, painted the stunning cover on his third album "Midwinter".

He even built his own recording studio at his home in Haslington and helps other people make and record their own music.

And he's no stranger to going on the road and appearing in concert to live audiences.

Apart from being the official support artist for Brooklyn songwriter and vocal powerhouse Nell Bryden taking in Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Sheffield, Scotland and many more places Rob has also appeared locally.

He staged a Christmas concert at St Bertoline's Church, Barthomley near Alsager (pictured below) in December.
