Alsager Community Theatre hopes to be grinning like a Cheshire cat with their next performance – Cheshire Cats.

Hot on the heels of their recent production of Willy Russell's 'Our Day Out', the theatre group are now gearing up for their next production.

And Alsager Community Theatre (ACT) are holding workshops, the first of which takes place tonight (Wednesday) and Thursdays.

Director, Vicky Vorwerg said: "Grown women, aching feet and heaving bosoms - follow the Cheshire Cats team as they speed walk their way to fundraising success in the London Moonwalk.

"Hilary, Siobhan, Yvonne, Vicky and Maggie are attempting to walk 13 miles across the capital in record time in their decorated bras and posh new trainers, but the sixth member of the team doesn't seem to meet the physical criteria.

"Cheshire Cats is a cross between a girls' night out and a real mission to support a cause close to many hearts, with plenty of laughs and a few tears along the way."

ACT begin workshops and rehearsals for Cheshire Cats for this play on November 23rd and 24th at The Institute, Green Drive, Alsager.

The play will be performed at the end of March and it's hoped this play will bring together the local community to raise awareness of the pressures of modern life and how folk can find a way to come together in a common cause.

If you are interested in joining ACT you are invited to the workshops. On and off stage positions are available and auditions will be part of the fun.

You can email the company at [email protected] or phone 07938 028292
