Eleven walkers scaled the heady heights of Snowdon at the weekend to raise money for two stroke groups and now the groups have a new event pencilled in.

The walkers took part in a charity walk on Saturday (July 2nd) to raise funds for Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group in Alsager and Crewe.

Now founder and organiser, Liz Bedson, is busy arranging the next event - a quiz night at Broo Cafe and Coffee shop in Lyceum Square, Crewe on August 6th.

Liz is delighted with the Snowdon event on Saturday. She said: "I am so proud of each and every one of them for making a difference to our stroke survivors.

"They did an incredible job and there is still time to donate to our Go Fund Me page - even a £1 will help."

"The two groups are working well and are a brilliant resource for stroke survivors. It's lovely see people making progress and making good friends.

"This money raised will help us to run the two groups and support the people who come along to use them."

She added: "We do not receive any central funding from the Government, or other charitable causes so rely on fundraising and kind donations.

Liz has released details of the next fundraising event - the quiz night in August for which there are limited spaces.

The event costs either £17 for a two course meal or £19 for three courses, including unlimited tea or coffee and entry to the quiz.

To book a place, contact or message Liz on 07852 826582 or email [email protected]

Donations for the Snowdon walk can still be made through the GoFund Me page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/Charity-Walk-up-Snowdon-Stroke-Survivors-Crewe?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer

The Stroke Survivors Speech & Language Support Groups are based at The Thirteen Club in Alsager (Thursdays, 10.30am) and Union Street Baptist Church on Union Street in Crewe (Tuesdays, 11am).

Sessions run in six week blocks, then have two weeks off.
