Burlesque dancer shares secrets of sassy new dance craze sweeping South Cheshire
By Deborah Bowyer 30th Jan 2026
If one of your New Year resolutions is to improve fitness and body confidence then new dance classes in South Cheshire could be just the thing for you.
Burlesque is known for its theatrical performance art focused on costume with fun dance moves to sassy music and amazing choregraphy.
And Nantwich resident, Kelley of TigerHeart Burlesque is offering women the chance to try Showgirl Sass dance classes to help increase body confidence as well as improving fitness and mental well-being.

TigerHeart Burlesque owner, Kelley, runs the dance classes in Alsager, Nantwich, Sandbach and Crewe.
She said: "What began as a small local class has grown into a full time body confidence focused dance school.
"I now dedicate most of my working life to creating a safe and welcoming space where people can reconnect with their bodies, build self belief, and feel part of a supportive community.
"My classes are rooted in showgirl and burlesque inspired dance, but the heart of what I do goes far beyond learning choreography.
"Many students arrive feeling nervous, self conscious, or disconnected from their confidence. Over time, they leave standing taller, smiling more freely, and feeling proud of themselves.

"For many, these classes have become a weekly act of self care and a valuable boost to their mental wellbeing.
"A key part of my mission is breaking down the stigma often attached to burlesque style dance. I work hard to show that exploring confidence, femininity, and self expression in a safe environment is not something to be embarrassed about or ashamed about.
"It is empowering, creative, and community driven. My focus is always on respect, safety, and encouragement, especially for beginners stepping into something completely new."
Kelley added: "My students come from many walks of life. Some are new mothers reclaiming time for themselves, some are older women navigating changes in their bodies and rediscovering confidence, some are men exploring femininity through movement.
"Others simply want a low pressure space to move, feel good, and meet new people. I welcome everyone, regardless of age, background, body type, or experience, and I am passionate about building a community where people learn to love their bodies while forming genuine friendships."

After successfully teaching in Nantwich and Crewe for several years, Kelley has recently expanded into Alsager and Sandbach to meet growing local demand.
"We teach one routine per month. Sandbach and Alsager learn the same routine, and Nantwich and Crewe learn the same routine," added Kelley.
"Our February routine runs over three weeks, with classes on various dates. Class spaces are limited due to venue sizes. Alsager and Nantwich currently have availability and I would love to welcome new students to discover Showgirl Sass this February."
