Alsager Cricket Club's chairman and treasurer, Alan Stancliffe, has paid tribute to Australian cricketer, Shane Warne whose death sadly was announced along with that of fellow Australian cricketer, Rod Marsh.
"Like the whole of our cricketing family we are mourning the loss of a great cricketer and character within the game," said Alan.

A PENSION fund with almost 100,000 members across Cheshire said it is reviewing its investments in a Russian bank due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
The Cheshire Pension Fund is used by Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington and Halton councils, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and more than 200 other organisations across the county including schools, colleges and parish councils.

Crewe's bid to become the headquarters of the Great British Railways is on track and it makes 'perfect sense' to locate it in the town, Cheshire East's deputy leader said.
Cllr Craig Browne, told the meeting of the full council, the government has finally launched the competition to find a location for the headquarters of the Great British Railways.
