My client is a leading main contractor providing high quality main contracts up to 3m in value across all Build Sectors including public, private sector works and mainly in the Commercial & Residential sectors.

They have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their business. This is a dual role where you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects, maintaining the balance between cost, quality, and client satisfaction.

Duties to include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and other associated costs.
  • Pricing tenders by assessing specifications, drawings, and bill of quantities.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction process, ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
  • Reviewing project tender documents to assess risks, opportunities, and scope of work.
  • Preparing accurate and competitive tenders for new projects, ensuring completeness and compliance with client requirements.
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive and accurate bids.
  • Negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients and suppliers.
  • Valuing variations and managing claims related to changes in project scope, ensuring that all additional work is priced and authorized.
  • Preparing and submitting interim and final valuations for projects, ensuring timely payments.
  • Managing commercial aspects of the contract, including reviewing payment terms, retention, and warranties.
  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure alignment between cost estimations and project delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, acting as a point of contact for any commercial or contractual matters.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with projects, including contractual risks, cost overruns, and delays.
